Vartalaap is a 2-Day long program aiming at building internal peace through knowing more about self and building a deeper connection with self through sharing and listening. This program is designed to nurture youth leaders who can create safe spaces for expression within their communities to provide a safe platform for expression to the youth of their communities. Through this two-day-long journey, we would be exploring the role of empathy and listening to build peace within.
We welcome applications from different parts of the country to ensure a culturally diverse cohort to maximize the impact of learning in the program. Through this, we aim to bring together varied world-views that on such a platform not only build on each other’s strengths but create a safe ground for acceptance of each other’s vulnerabilities.
Over the period of time we would engage with the cohort to check-in within their journey of self-exploration and to nurture the community for creating an engaging and safe space to hand-hold everyone with the support of the community.
Vartalaap -From an Initiative to becoming Community-Owned Movement
A journey of knowing thyself through sharing and listening is the idea that motivated us at MGMD to start Vartalaap. Beginning with a small circle of sharing and story-listening sessions, the program has transformed itself. In collaboration with Peace First, now we are organizing two-days of fun and self-exploration.
Ripple effects of change can be observed around very easily, with our first phase we reached 45+ individuals. These young enthusiastic members, now supporting us in our journey forward and offering their invaluable time and contribution by participating as listeners and space holders during these sessions.
In second phase of Vartalaap we touched 25+ ambitious and beautiful souls so far. Their acceptance and joy for our idea have been overwhelming. The ripples are going on and on and we are now able to empower youth to hold such spaces in their own locality with whatever capacity they hold within.
